Dana Lewis is a Sephardic vocalist, educator, and vocal empowerment coach. Her work brings Sephardic music into the present as a living, communal practice rooted in women’s voices, ancestral transmission, and cultural bridge-building. A professional crossover vocalist, her music blends folk, contemporary, musical theatre, jazz, cabaret, opera, and world music.

Whether working one-on-one in her voice studio or singing Sephardic repertoire in communal spaces, Dana’s work is unified by the same commitment: empowering voices, honoring lineage, and using music as a bridge to shared humanity.

To explore her ancestral lineage, Dana turned to Sephardic music to deepen her connection to lived tradition. In 2016, she began mentoring with Roberto Riggio, Music Director of Atash, and performing with The University of Texas Bereket Middle Eastern Ensemble, led by Sonia Seeman. For the past decade, and continuing forward, her work has remained rooted in the Sephardic music sphere.

Dana is deeply engaged in the study and respectful transmission of Sephardic music, shaped by mentorship from leading scholars and tradition bearers, including ethnomusicologist Judith Cohen and Gloria Ascher, alongside ongoing study with Sephardic singers, Ladino Language teachers and researchers. She is a vocal coach and founder of Undeniable Voice, a voice studio where she works with teens and adults, particularly neurodivergent individuals, to access their voices with confidence and agency.
